about

One half of Cursed Chimera, this is the solo work of E. J. Steigerwald. Zenderender's debut "Mercury" is as fluid as the title and just as dangerous. Not holding back, Breakcore cuts, intense glitches, heavy basslines rip through this album while not falling into boring cliches or sounding overly intellectual. Dance floor friendly numbers like Wodanaz, Dreaming at 600mph, which are perfect for boot stomping at any EBM club. More cerebral and melodic pieces such as Black Eyed White Fish and Repent, Harlequin! capture the sonic imagination and use complex synth work not seen in most electronic music. Bell synths, and heavy saw waves cut through each song while the solid percussion carries the assault to your synapses. Bubblegum Barracuda is the only vocal track on the album, beckoning all challengers to be discarded like simple gnats to Zenderender's harsh glitchtronics. Everything about this record screams "play me loud, in the dark, with your boots on!" so don't disrespect Zenderender's demands. Cast the dice and let's roll. CC023
